Homes where every child can thrive

At Ironstone Care, we provide safe, nurturing homes where young people with emotional, social and behavioural needs can grow, heal and thrive.

A Nurturing Approach to Care

Every child deserves to feel valued, supported and given the opportunity to flourish. At Ironstone Care, we believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can begin to heal, grow and thrive. Our homes are designed to feel welcoming and family-like, with dedicated personalised care tailored to the individual needs of each child. By providing stability and consistency, we help build the foundations of resilience, self-esteem and independence.

We understand the importance of community, which is why our homes are rooted in local areas, ensuring that children remain connected to familiar schools, friends and family ties. This local focus not only strengthens a child’s sense of belonging but also supports long-term growth and continuity in their education, wellbeing and personal development.

Our Values

Nurturing Care Shaped by GENTLE Principles

Guided by the values of Guidance, Empathy, Nurturing, Trust, Love and Empowerment (GENTLE), our care model creates more than just a safe space—it builds a true sense of belonging. We focus on relationships that are consistent, supportive and rooted in respect, ensuring every child feels valued. By living these principles day to day, we create a family-like environment where young people can develop resilience, build confidence and move towards a brighter future.

Model of Care

Model of Care

Putting Children’s Needs First

By combining the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) model with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), we create a holistic approach that supports both emotional wellbeing and behavioural development. PACE helps our staff connect with children on a deeper level, building trust through empathy and curiosity and creating a safe space where feelings can be understood and expressed.

Alongside this, PBS provides practical, proactive strategies for encouraging positive behaviour. Instead of focusing on punishment, we work with each child to identify triggers, develop coping strategies and set achievable goals that build confidence and life skills.

Together, these approaches ensure that every young person in our care receives tailored support that recognises their unique experiences, promotes resilience and helps them reach their full potential.
